THE SOLUTION – WHAT WE ARE DOING

The BUAV invests in-house and consultant scientists to help shine a light on the realities of animal experiments and research the potential of alternative methods. Our team of scientists use their expertise in a number of ways:

• We monitor the use of animals in experiments and bring to the public’s attention the reality of animal testing
• We ensure that our investigational and legal work is backed up with sound scientific argument
• We work with the policy team to provide sound science to support our public and political campaigns
• We provide scientific input into UK and EU and international bodies, working groups and consultations to ensure that the interests of animals are taken seriously and alternatives are considered
• We research animal experiments with a view to establishing areas that are ripe for replacement
• We work directly with regulatory bodies to encourage the use of alternatives and the reduction of animal testing. For more information see our REPLACE campaign page
