Please ask your MP to sign Early Day Motion 110 calling for an independent inquiry at Imperial College London

MPs from all political parties have joined the BUAV in renewing calls for an independent inquiry into the concerns regarding animal suffering and wrongdoing, uncovered by a BUAV investigation, at Imperial College London by signing an Early Day Motion in the House of Commons.

The EDM was tabled in the previous session of Parliament, but when the parliamentary year ended in April MPs are no longer able to sign EDMs. The motion has been tabled again as the Home Office have yet to make any announcement as to how the concerns raised in our report are to be addressed.

Early Day Motion 110 has been tabled by Caroline Lucas MP with cross party support and states:

"That this House is very concerned by the reported poor practices and animal welfare issues at Imperial College London, as reported by the Sunday Times of April 14 2013 after an investigation by the BUAV; in particular the breaches in the regulatory regime governing animal experiments and inappropriate licensing and enforcement by the Home Office and calls for an wholly independent inquiry into the allegations and any wider implications for how animal testing is licensed.

Please join us by writing to your MP today urging them to sign our Early Day Motion 110 and join our calls for an independent inquiry.
