Sign and share our petition – and say No to Cruel Cosmetics in Europe!
This is a critical time. Please take a moment to act for animals today, World Day for Animals, and sign our petition to end cruel tests for cosmetics sold in Europe.
In 2003, after a long campaign led by the BUAV and members of the European Coalition to End Animal Experiments (ECEAE), the European Parliament decided that no animal testing for cosmetics should take place in the EU and that all animal tested cosmetics should be banned from being sold in the European Union by March 2013. Now, ten years later, this deadline is under threat.
The European Commission is expected to make its proposal soon on whether the 2013 deadline should be adhered to or not. We have been lobbying hard to ensure the ban goes ahead in 2013 as promised, but indications suggest that the Commission may propose watering down the legislation to allow some animal tests to continue outside of the EU.
This means thousands of animals could continue to suffer and die in cruel tests for cosmetics and toiletries sold in Europe unless compassionate citizens act now. Please sign and share our petition today to help prevent unnecessary tests on animals for cosmetics sold in the EU – www.NoCruelCosmetics.org
We will use the petitions to convince MEPs to keep their promise and hold firm with the 2013 ban. Thousands of rabbits, guinea pigs, mice and rats are being injected, gassed or force-fed and killed worldwide for cosmetics products sold in the EU. Together we can convince them to end this cruelty and say No to Cruel Cosmetics in Europe once and for all.
