Help the BUAV to be the voice of animals in laboratories worldwide!

14/09/2012

I am delighted with the progress of Cruelty Free International, our global organization dedicated to ending cosmetics testing on animals worldwide. Since its establishment in March of this year, Cruelty Free International has been in contact and discussions with many authorities and companies. We have also received widespread international media coverage. Thank you to everyone who has supported Cruelty Free International so far by signing our pledge either online or in The Body Shop stores. It is crucial that the issue of animal testing is put on the global map, so if you have not done so already please sign the Cruelty Free International pledge and help us consign animal testing for cosmetics to the history books!

Don’t forget you can find out more about the campaign on the Cruelty Free International website, by liking us on Facebook and following us on Twitter.

Our No Cruel Cosmetics campaign to end the sale of animal tested cosmetics in Europe is gaining momentum. The petition, run with our partners in the European Coalition to End Animal Experiments, is approaching 200,00 signatures! Please do sign and circulate it to your friends and family.

Yesterday, the statistics for the number of animals used in experiments in Scotland and Wales during 2011 were published. We were disappointed to see that the numbers of animals rose by 14.2% in Wales and 11.7% in Scotland. This scale of animal suffering is unacceptable. The UK Government must fulfil its pledge to reduce animal experiments. We have tabled Early Day Motion 405 which has attracted cross-party support, calling on the Government to publish a clear reduction strategy and start working to reduce the numbers of animals in experiments.

Please join our call by writing to your MP today urging them to sign our Early Day Motion 405 and help the voice of animals to be heard in Parliament.

Until next time…
