The Co-operative supports BUAV Cruelty Free Cleaning Campaign

While the government prevaricates over whether to ban the testing of household products on animals, leading UK retailer The Co-operative Group has announced its commitment to raise public awareness of this cruel and unnecessary practice in support of the BUAV's 'Clean Up Cruelty' campaign.

The Co-operative's membership teams have been working closely with the BUAV to raise the profile of animal testing and promote the Leaping Bunny logo aiming to achieve the same level of awareness as fair-trade and organic certification among consumers.

One of the most novel ways supporters can join the campaign is via the Photo Pledge Gallery. At this year's Cambridge Folk Festival, members of the public had their photographs taken for the BUAV's online gallery and received a personalised campaign key-ring with their photo on it.
